How to choose your Hormann garage door.

Garage doors are broadly divided into various categories. Within each category there are a large number of makes, models, sizes and finishes available.

Up and over garage doors.

Up and over is a blanket term. There are two up and over mechanism types.

Hormann Canopy Mechanism

• The Canopy door operates in vertical tracks on the doors side frame. Usually cable operated. When fully open the door forms a canopy of approx a third of the door's height.
• Least expensive
• Easy to fit
• NOT ideal for automation.

Hormann Retractable Mechanism

• The retractable door is guided by horizontal tracks inside the garage and retracts completely when fully opened.
• Ideal for automation.
• Easy to fit. All our metal, timber and GRP doors are available in both mechanism types.

Hormann steel garage doors.

• Hormann steel up and over garage doors are galvanized and powder coated in White. Some sizes/models are available in Brown.
• Some sizes/models available with Hormann Decograin golden oak or rosewood finish.
• All steel doors are available with canopy or retractable mechanism.
• Available in a large selection of standard sizes.
  

Hormann timber garage doors.

• Hormann timber garage doors are constructed from solid Cedar and Cedar/Marine plywood combination depending on design. Most timber doors are base coat treated in clear to finish in the wood stain of your choice.
• Fully finished option available in various Sikkens wood stain finishes.
• Many styles available.
• Many standard sizes available.
• All these doors available in CANOPY MECHANISM or RETRACTABLE MECHANISM.

Hormann GRP Fibreglass Garage Doors.

• Made by means of a GRP panel bonded to a strong Hormann steel door chassis. Available in standard sizes in Gloss white, and various wood grain colours.
• A maintenance free garage door with seriously good looks.

Sectional garage doors.

• Hormann sectional garage doors maximise drive through width as they are fitted on the rear face of the garage opening.
• The door opens vertically so you can park in front of the door and still open it.
• Excellent level of security.
• Neat rubber seals all around the door prevent drafts and leaves etc blowing into the garage.
• Made from fully finished steel.
• Available in:
  >>>single skin non-insulated,
  >>>20mm insulation and
  >>>42mm insulation.
• Horizontal or Georgian panel available in white or standard RAL colour.
• Special RAL colour doors available on request at little extra cost.
